W2 contractors are paid on a weekly basis.  If you fax your time card back by Monday at 4:00 PM, your check will arrive the same week.

Davis IT and Engineering is your employer when you are placed on a contract assignment.

As a contractor, what would come out of the hourly rate negotiated with the Recruiter?

As a W2 Contractor, taxes (State and Federal), Medicare and SSC are taken from the pay check. Also, if the contractor elects for benefits, those will be deducted from the paycheck. There are no fees taken out of the negotiated hourly rate.

Is there a fee involved in finding a contractor a position?

There is no fee to the applicant.
